The headlines are pretty bleak these days and we’ve been pretty busy at the League fielding questions from a lot of folks. From what I hear, it’s the same at credit unions as members check in and ask a lot of questions about deposit insurance (it’s a lot of work to be sure, but what a great moment for credit unions to reassure & educate members about their safety and soundness!).
So let’s take a moment on Friday and enjoy one of the funniest ads I’ve ever seen a credit union produce. The “Fee Pig” ad from Charlotte Metro Credit Union brought me a few belly laughs — and these days, that’s a very good thing.
Enjoy your weekend folks, and keep on doing great things on behalf of your members!

Thanks for the commercial. It’s not often that a CU commercial has me laughing out loud!
Christian – thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. It’s been a crazy week here in NC, and that ad really took the edge off!
Have a great weekend!
Wow, that is hilarious! I agree – this is such a great time for credit unions to really jump up and tell the world how and why they’re different from banks – and how they’re the same, also.
I think so many people don’t understand that CU’s have deposit insurance, so now is such an opportune time to point out the ways that your CU is better than a bank, and to point out that your members’ money is just as safe in a CU as it is in a bank (maybe safer, given everything going on now!)
CU’s and state leagues/associations should definitely be taking advantage of this opportunity – I hope this CU has more ads up its sleeve!
